Free lockers will be available at the dolphin facility, so feel free to bring a change of clothes. Other things of note: no personal picture-taking is allowed in the dolphin facility. They have a picture taker following you and he will take every conceivable picture with you and the dolphins and stingrays. Because of the pricing, you're probably better off buying the entire picture package...expensive, but they take a lot of good pictures.
Anyway, its about a 30 minute bus ride to the turtle and dolphin facilities. They are right across the street from each other. We went into the turtle facility first - you can use personal cameras there. You can pick up the baby turtles in a separate pool area. After about 30 minutes there, you go over to the dolphin facility. Come dressed in a bathing suit but bring a towel and a change of clothes. Water shoes not necessary. You get to do a belly and fin ride with the dolphin and also get kisses too. After everyone does their dolphin thing, you get to go into a stingray area and pet one of the rays.
You then get out of the pool, change and get about 30 minutes to shop. Here's where it gets rushed. After about 10 minutes of hemming and hawwing over which pictures we liked, I just bought the whole package as there were a lot of nice pictures. Unfortunately after you pay for the pictures, you have to go to another, understaffed part of the store to pick up your pictures/CDs.
You get on another bus to get back to the ship. Overall, it was a pretty good tour. The kids had a blast, that's what is important.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

We had a mixup with another dolphin trip, so this company took us instead for the same price. WOW - what a huge value! We were able to view tons of beautiful turtles of all sizes and were able to hold young ones. Then, we pet some stingray that had their barbs removed, so they were safe. Then, the real fun began with our dolphin experience. We had so many interactions with the dolphin up close and personal. We did a dolphin kiss, a boogie board ride, rode on his belly and did some other minor tricks with him. The facility is top notch and the dolphins are well-handled and treated great. You can really tell they are happy and love interacting with humans. The trainers were marvelous and helped us have a great experience. I would pay double to do this excursion again - you can't go to this port and not experience this. This excursion is a must. We will remember our experience for the rest of our lives.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

We had a great time! You take a short bus ride through the village and our first visit was the dolphin center. We only were able to walk into the shallow end and take a picture with the stingray and then we were hurried out and on to the dolphin swim. The best part of this tour was the dolphins! We were able to be pushed by a dolphin while holding a boogie board and also take a ride on the dolphin by holding the fins. As said before you are not allowed to take your own camera, and the pictures were very over priced. All in all we had a great time, but would skip the stingray portion next time.

What an awesome experience! It was well worth the money to have that much interaction with the dolphins. I wish I would have had a little more time to see the turtle farm, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world. Be prepared to pay for the pictures of your experience, but they can work a deal if you combine people for the picture discs.

Our family of 4 (husband, 8 year old girl, 15 year old boy, and I) had too much fun. We actually did an upgrade to this package from the dolphin interaction and turtle farm package at the dolphin facility upon entry. The staff was wonderful. I didn't think we could do that, but the staff accommodated us immediately. The staff charged it to the ship card, that was all they needed. When reading the requirements on the other package, I thought that you had to be moderate swimmers, so that is why I went with the first package. After seeing other children at the safety briefing, I asked could our daughter swim with the dolphin. They took her over to measure her height. She met the requirement. So, I asked for the upgrade to this package....yay! We all had life jackets on, BONUS...rock on!
We went to the turtles first. It is a short time period for this activity. You get to feed the big ones first. They were beautiful. You only have 30 minutes to feed the large ones and hold the little ones. Just watch your time, if you want to do all. The little turtles to hold are in the very back of the establishment.
Next we walked across the street to touch and walk in the stingray pool. After that short (about 30 minutes) interaction, we went to the dolphin interaction and swim. All very entertaining. The food was okay.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

We did this excursion in Feb 2012. Definitely something you should do at least once. You get so much hands on with the dolphins and the turtles--at least compared to anything in the United States. Buy the CD and the Book at the Dolphin Discovery. We did. So much fun to look at later. They took more than 50 pictures. Better than we could have done ourselves.

I give this excursion 5 HUGE stars. We absolutely loved it. My husband and I took our three kids and of course our favorite part was swimming with Cappi (our dolphin). We have never experienced anything like, but hope to do so again. Everyone was awesome here and were a great help. The only downside was purchasing the pictures - very costly. In our case we had to buy the whole dvd of pictures (with only our family in it), but to me it was still worth it because those are memories and experiences you don't ever want to forget. I would recommend this to anyone - you don't have to have kids to go.

My mother, 11 year old niece and I went on this excursion. The turtle farm was cool, we got to hold turtles and see different varieties of them. We only had the opportunity to touch the stingray and get a quick photo with it (which was ok because my mom and niece were not too fond of it).
Our encounter with our dolphin, Darwin, was awesome and memorable. The trainer was very helpful and knowledgable. The only problem was that you are not allowed to take your own photos. The prices of photos and a cd with photos on it were so incredibly expensive and outrageous. I would consider doing a dolphin encounter at another port if the photo prices were more affordable somewhere else.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

take the bus that carnival provides, the turtle farm was just ok- only had 1/2 hr, our guide shows us to the front entrance , no one tells you where anything is, not enough time to see it all, if you really want to see and do everything they have to offer plan on an hour at least. across the road is the dolphin / stingray, the stingray was a joke, you walk down a set of steps touch a stingray that they hold get your picture taken get out 5 min tops. spend your money on the dolphins, wonderful , fun, alot of interaction with them, so worth the price just for that alone.

There is truly nothing that I will ever do that will match the thrill of being pushed on a boogy board by a dolphin.
The dolphin experience consists of a short briefing, and then you head to an enclosed pool where you stand on the platform with a trainer, who walks you through every step.
First, we get a little familar with our dolphin. Then we learn a few hand signals and the dolphin comes up for a kiss and kisses a ball.
Next is the belly ride, You swim out a ways and the dolphin comes next to you where you grab one fin and then another and he takes you back to the platform.
The ultimate experience is the boogy board. You swim out again and the dolphin nudges your feet and pushes you very fast back to the platform.
The last experience is the whole group doing a few more signals and the dolphin doing a few more tricks.
Be prepared to purchase some great photos,. You are not permitted to take your own.
The turtle part of the excursion was accross the street at a self guided tour of the turtle farm. This was also very cool. You are allowed to pick up and even get in the water with smaller turtles.
The stingray part consists of getting in a pool, putting your hand on a stingray for a second for a picture and getting out. My only criticism of this excursion is that they should not even bother with this part. I think people expect a lot more.
I highly recommend this experience for anyone with any affection at all for dolphins.
I did not get any impression at all of any abuse or mistreatment of any animals.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

This has been a childhood dream come true for me! First the trip there was quick, informative, comfortable and enjoyable. The stingray part of it was not something I was looking forward to or I would have went on a stingray excursion. That goes the same for the turtles but this was what my son wanted to be a part of; but just not enough time due to weather. But the time with our dolphin friend was everything I hoped it would be. I would love to visit with Luna again someday, she was a sweetheart! The trainer was tops! I wish I knew how to do what he does. But I agree on the other reviews, more time was needed with the dolphin. We purchased all of the pictures on the CD and it was worth everything. It's a memory of a lifetime!

The dolphin swim is the main attaction of this excursion. The stingray interaction is more just a photo op. You walk into waist deep water and a guy passes a stingray by everybody and you get to touch it. Then you have a photo taken and that's it.
The turtle farm was interesting in that you got to see the turtles up close. There is a section where you can get in the water with the small turtles so that you can pick one up and take your picture with one. This was pretty interesting.
However, the main attraction is the dolphin swim. You get two times to swim with the dolphin. First, you lay on a boogie board and the dolphin comes up behind you and pushes you. The second time, you the dolphin comes up beside you and you grab its fins and he pulls you through the water. That is really cool.
There are also times where you're standing on the edge of the pool for photo ops with the dolphin as they give you a kiss (and you're allowed to kiss them back) and other poses.
Afterward you're allowed to purchase pictures and a picture book of your experience. It is quite expensive, but we bought the picture CD anyway.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

We had a great time with the dolphin. I wish we could have spent more time with her. It was a little disappointing in some ways. we didn't have much time to do any of the activities. Seemed like we were cut short viewing the turtles. When we entered the stingray tank, it was just a walk through. you get in line single file and walk through the tank and pet the stingray as you walk by and out you go. For the price, I would have like to see a few more minutes with the dolphin. Over all it was a great experience. I just think for the price it should have been a little more involved.. And you can't take pictures while your there. and theirs is way too much. I wished they would have made people take off their jewelry. Our dolphin ended up with a cut on her belly near her fin after the ride due to a lady with big jewelry on several fingers.. It was sad.

I have always wanted to swim with dolphins, so im glad I booked this excursion. You spend a lot of time in the water with the dolphins and they take lots of pictures, however the pictures are very high in price. The turtle farm was also an awesome experience! You get to hold turtles and get in the water with some of them. Overall i'd recommend doing this excursion.

We started out with a short bus ride to the dolphin site. They provide nice changing rooms and lockers with keys. After getting your life jacket on you walk to the stingray interaction. Don't expect much interaction, it's just a shallow pool and everyone lines up against the wall and an employee will bring a stingray by for you to pet. Interaction time is about 30 seconds.
The dolphins were great, everyone got a kiss, hand shake, belly ride and a push on a boogy board plus a few other touches. The CD pictures for 2 of us was pricey but what the heck we wanted them.
The Turtle Farm was an amazing place. Lots and lots of turtles. Clean facility and friendly people.
Watch your time on this one, ours varied by an hour from ship to shore and we missed our last bus and had to catch a ride back on another one.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

There is a person waiting for you once you get off the bus to give you information. She was a bit hard to understand just listen for the time she tells you to come to come back and catch the bus. You can't bring your camera into the water area, but the have a professional photographer that takes a bunch of pictures of everyone. You start out with the stingray encounter. That was not worth it to me. You go in the pool and the guy is holding this little stingray and goes up to each person to touch it then it's over. next you go over to the bigger pool where you stand on a submerged platform in the water. There's about 8 or so people in a group and you line up along the platform. The dolphin swims past everyone and you get to pet him then he swims by again with his belly up and you get to pet his belly!! Everyone takes turns swimming out to the middle of the pool and the dolphin comes up to the side of you and you grab his fins and he pulls you back to the platform. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! And there are tons of photo ops where kiss the dolphin and shake is fins and a few other things it was a blast!!!!!!!!! after the dolphin you get out and you walk across the street to the turtle farm which was also amazing!! there were tons and tons of sea turtles in these pools and you just walk right up and pick them up out of the water!! This whole excursion was just incredible, but could have done without the stingrays.

I've always wanted to swim with a dolphin. Well, i got my chance and it was everything i expected and more. Short ride from port to dolphin discovery. The turtle farm was cool. Got to hold some turtles. The dolphin swim was fantastic. Our dolphin's name was Darwin. He was a very gentle and majestic creature. We got to pet him, play with him, catch rides from him, and make him do tricks. A totally awesome experience. The stingrays were cool too. We got in a large pool with them and while we listened to many interesting facts about them, they swam between our feet. Definitely recommend. Especially if you love dolphins!
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.

I really enjoyed this tour! This was my 12th cruise and I have always wanted to swim with the dolphins! It was well worth it! The stingrays were not so worth it because u get into like a waste deep little pool and he pretty much just lets you pet one. You are only in there a max of 5 minutes. I really enjoyed the turtle part, I got to hold baby turtles and medium sized turtles. The tour was a lot of fun! But not the best tour if you are really wanting to "swim" with the stingrays.
Yes, I recommend this shore excursion.
